Are the factory stubs closer to Mediums or closer to Broads?

Mine seem closer to broad.

Maybe you should give Swisherpens.com a call -- they used to have Carenes with stubs in stock, maybe they can tell you.
The Exception stub is broad & generous (one of my favorites). The stub on my Man200 is broad and generous to the point of being sloppy. The supposedly-stub nib on my Edson is broad, but precise, & seems more like an italic to me. I'm wondering if the inlaid Carene nib might be more like the Edson inlaid nib?
I think a Carene with a stub would be a dream!

Ghost Plane,
I had a Carčne with a factory stub and had to sell it because it was very broad. The nib was a pleasure to write with, mind you, but way too broad for my handwriting. Might be right up your alley. Best,
David

Excellent news. There's no such thing as a too broad nib!
Swishers is out of stubs right now BTW.

Ghost Plane,
Exactly how large is your handwriting? You seem to be migrating to larger and larger nibs. I have large handwriting, and I need to use a medium nib to be able to see the openings in my letters.

If you look in Ink Reviews at my review of Tulipe Noire, you'll see my scribble using a typical B nib.
