Hello to all the people in this forum and in the penīs world.
Iīm collecting pens for four years and half, starting with a Conklin ( my fatherīs pen) and more two or three Parkers.
After a severe heart disease, needing to live without stress, my attention had been centered in my Conklin that I didnīt use and about it I only knew that was a “good” pen, but that leaked (the problem remains…). We are in the XXI century and, of course, Internet is the fountain of all the knowledge . Well, hundreds, or even thousands of pens fell down over my head… And I liked! And I start buying (from Ebay, mainly). And I bought lots of garbage… But also some interesting pens!
Today I have something like 2000 pens, including some mechanical pens.
I try to repair and restore, with more or less success, but there are some that I donīt know how or, the worst, I have not the appropriate tools.
I hope to learn a lot here with all pen lovers. Thanks in advance

Joao

Which Conklin of your fathers do you have?? I love vintage Conklins! My favorites are the late 20's Enduras and the late teens Crescent fillers.

Welcome aboard.
If your pen collection will increase proportionally with your FPN membership (#of days from the sign up, #of posts, and so on) as it happened with me, then you are in trouble and the pen collecting world on the eve of a massive rise in prices...

pakmanpony,

Thank you very much.
The number give a wrong impression! When I start, I didnīt know nothing about fountain pens, so I made many mistakes! I was buying and learning at same time. Today I buy little and only if a good price come out or there are a pen that I like very much (with, also, a good price! rolleyes.gif ). I need time to organize my pens and try to restore a few of them. And I need start selling. I have some repeated pens that, of course, needs go away. What would be the better Internet place to sell? Do you have an opinion?

Best regards,

Joao

pakmanpony,

My Conklin is a Nozac black-veined green pearl piston-filler, 13.1 cm long, gold filled trim, 5000-word "Word Gauge". Itīs a nice pen, near mint (it was used less than we can think, because my father pass away very young). I think that needs a new piston-filler seal, because it still have the primitive seal, made of cork.
I bought two mechanical pencils that matchs with the pen, one with a clip and the other, smaller, with a ring in the top. Itīs interesting, because the original mechanical pencil ( the set - F.P./M.P. was offered to my Dad as a gift by his University Graduation on 1937) was lost, I never knew it.
I have more some Conklins, but nothing really excitant, including another Nozac, colour cooper (red?), but I canīt moove the piston filler and the nib is not original.

Best regards,

Joao

Obrigado, Conterrâneo!

More than a pen a day... Ya, but portuguese customs start looking to me and now Iīm a victim of them. They donīt let to pass anything without putting the hands in my pocket... Now, I canīt buy in USA, the great source of F.Ps. Do you send pens?

Cumprimentos,

Was it a water fall of Watermans?

Welcome to FPN, Joao! Here, Pentrace and Zoss are great places to buy pens, so you may want to sell as well!
