I don't have a scuba shop in the area and would like to order some over the web.
I guess it should not be in spray form, because i heard that can contain non-silicone elements.

Thanks in advance,

Jeen

Hi Jeen,

take a look at http://tryphon.it/catalogo.htm . Giovanni has a silicon lubricant.

Denis.
Gerry
Look to an automotive or bicycle repair shop. Both specialities need silicone based lubricants that do not destroy rubber products for their applications. Note that the automotive shops sometimes do not know that their product is 100% silicone lube - but if you ask for a disk brake lube product you will get just that. It has to provide lube for areas with rubber O-rings and boots that are critical - and this is the characteristic you are looking for.

Gerry

PS - do a search within the FPN for silicone and you will find earlier recommendations.

Thanks Denis and Gerry!

BTW I used the search engine for the first time, and found the prior thread. Very nice!
The next time I'm at Lowe's I'll pick up some of that plumber's silicone grease. I also read Wim's instructions on how to lube a Pel. Thanks Wim. :bunny1:

Jeen,
I am not posting this to capitalise on the possible sale of ONE silicone jar, but I need to tell you that the plumber's silicone sold at HOme Depot is NOt ideal for pen use. I tried it when I was looking for suitable lubricants, and found it to be too "sticky" (for lack of a better word). If you do not wish to purchase from Tryphon, Sam Fiorella of Pendemonium sells the right stuff in smaller quantities than we do. Sam's supplies are all outstanding, by the way!

I have used Giovanni's silicone grease on my MBs and Pelikans. Very nice and one container of the stuff can last me a long long time. While I am on the topic here, Giovanni. Would the stuff dry up in time?

Hi,

Silicone does not dry up, but it sometimes gets flushed out of the pen when cleaning the pen.

Glad you like the lube.
It will not dry up, it can last a lifetime (or more!!!) wink.gif
Take care,

Tryphon's silicone grease is great stuff. Also, depending upon what you're considering doing with it, you may want to consider his section sealant resin. Got both and they work wonderfully for making ED conversions.
