ooooohhhhh pretty!!!!!!!!!

oooo, very nice. Whats the filling system? I think Visconti likes to use lever fillers, but I'm not sure. This isn't the optimum time to post, as there is another thread about a nightmare with a pen from this band. Also, whats the barrel material?

Very, very nice indeed. I have 3 Viscontis and never a serious problem except nib adjustments in two.

PRAG,

The filling system is cartridge/converter. I acquired my Gold Point n.1 LE (36/365) from Novelli in Italy. I love the color of this pen. The pen is described as amber acryloid with gold-plated trim. I have attached additional photos courtesy of Novelli's eBay posting:

That Gold Point is drop dead gorgeous. Its shape reminds me somewhat of a Bexley Americana, which I am sure is coincidental and which, in my mind, is a very good thing.

What is the physical size by analogy? Pelikan M-600, M-800 size?

Hardyb,

I have not yet inked this pen as I have been trying out other recent purchases. I hope to have some time during the holiday break to sit down and take it through it's paces. A review may follow.

FrankB,

This is one large pen. Dimensions are as follows: Capped: 5 15/16"; Uncapped: 5 7/16"; Posted: 7 1/4". These dimensions make it larger that a Pelikan M-1000 and approximately the same size as my Sailor King of Pen.

I just love the 18K two-tone Visconti nibs. Here is a better photo of the nib (again credit to Novelli):

I hate it when I toss a pen out to snag folks and make them want to buy it and I end up hooked!! I've had 2 Visconti's a Kelido Voyager and a Red Wall Street, both nice pens. The Gold Point is stunning, I love the big gold band on the cap. I didn't realize it was such a big pen.

Perry,

I agree about the gold band, but what really hooked me was the depth of colors and lights in the acryloid material. It really looks like the barrel and cap are made from amber. You can get a hint of what I mean from the part of the cap shown in the photo I posted previously of the Visconti nib.

One of the things I adore about Viscontis are their size. Long and well balanced so that I can float the nibs over the page.

It's made from Acryloid. Cartridge/converter. They all look pretty much alike. The placement of the white swirls does not seem to vary.

Visconti makes some excellent pens, and they have become quite adept at adapting a few underlying designs into a multitude of colorful and attractive pens. I love their large nibs. I believe that the same nib that is on this pen is also on the Opera Club, the Van Gogh Maxi, the Wall Street, the Aida, the Gold Nugget, and several other pens.
