Does anybody have the CS Collector's Edition pen? I did like this pen when I got to hold one, but in the end opted to buy a Duro instead. However, I keep looking at it and wondering if I should get one. Nothing like wasting a bit of redundancy money is there wink.gif

Would also like to know the answer to this. Is the centenary collectors edition the same as the duro in design?

I have the Centenary Limited Edition Silver Overlay, which I believe is somewhat larger than the regular version. I've held both the regular Centenary and the Duro in a pen shop and remember liking the balance of the Centenary slightly better, though it was not a great difference. My Limited Edition version is a divine writing instrument; it is my favourite pen in my entire collection. I received it as a gift for a very special occasion, and it was given to me because of the overlay factor. But what makes it my favourite pen is that, aside from being gorgeous, it is extremely comfortable to hold and write with, and the nib is perhaps the smoothest nib I own pre-Richard Binder. I am so crazy about this pen in fact, that I wanted to buy a regular resin Centenary as well, to have as a more everyday pen. But what made me hesitant about both the resin Centenary and the Duro, after having handled them, is that they are a bit too light for me -- does anybody else find that about CS pens?.. So without the extra weight added by the silver overlay, I did not find the Centenary quite as comfortable to use. Still, if you are okay with the weight, then I would definitely recommend it.

Hi,

The Centenary Collector's pens are available in Classic Green, Classic Black and Bracket Brown. The size is a little shorter than the Duro and this model uses the nib that was mounted on the Dandy and '58'. The cap tassie sports the engraved commemorative dates 1905 & 2005 and the distinctive Conway Stewart diamond logo is engraved on the barrel tassie.

I have one of the Collector's Edition pens, and while it may arguably be comparable to the Duro (in terms of dimensions and weight), the Collector's Edition's barrel is gracefully outwardly curved (like the cap on the Wellington). So I don't consider it as a bit of redundancy because the ergonomics of the pen (due to the curved barrel) make them feel and appear different to me. Then again, I'm one to notice such things... smile.gif

Oh, I'm assuming your post is referring to the Centenary Collector's Edition, not the Centenary Silver Overlay that QM2's post references. I have the Centenary Silver Overlay as well, and one would be hard pressed to compare the Centenary Silver Overlay against the Centenary Collector's Edition and/or Duro. Although all are similar in size, we're talking about entirely different pens altogether (in terms of material and price-range).

Conway Stewart will be launching new colours for the Centenary Collector's Edition early in 2008 and will have images shortly.

Mary,

will it ever come out in ebonite or white casein?

Anyone heard any news on the new Centenary Collector's Edition colors? I have some money to spend on a new CS pen, and I have been wondering about waiting until the new colors release.

Don't suppose there's any chance these pens might be at the Northern Pen Show is there?
