Hi,
I am interested in a Modern Eyedropper pen.
Have searched the internet and have come up with three options available till now............
1.Kaweco Sport modified by Nathan Tradiff.
2.Danitrio's.
3.Recife Marble Resin Crystal Fountain Pen.
Would be grateful for suggestions besides these three.

I recently got an
Brahman ebonite eyedropper filler (review by jonro here:
http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...showtopic=27539 )
Wality makes several models that are eyedropper fillers---the 69L, the 69T, the 71J, the 70D, I believe...

Hi,
You might like to look a little closer to home, I believe Ratnam and Wality still make decent quality eye droppers and there may well be more Indian brands available. I have a vintage Ratnam e/d from the early 50s that is a very nice pen indeed and there was a thread with photos showing Ratnam current production pens a couple of months ago.
BTW your No Nonsense pens can make very nice eye dropper fillers with little more than a smear of silicone grease around the barrel threads, there were some posts in this forum about this a while ago.
Cheers, John

Fateh, you did not set a limit on cost, so I will mention the Delta O/S Dolce Vita. Mine came with a rubber "O" ring and an eye dropper. This pen is very large, and I cannot imagine using this bad boy as an eye dropper filler, but apparently it is made to do so.
My only other modern eye dropper filler is my Dantrio Densho, which is an outstanding pen. But, you have to like large pens.

Hi Frank,
Thanks for the info.
I tried looking it up on the internet.
Could not find any mention of it being used as an Eyedropper.
Any links you can suggest?
FrankB
Nov 23 2007, 10:52 AM
No, no links at the moment, Fateh, but I will look. You see, I did not know the O/S Dolce Vita was set up to be used as an eye dropper filler until it arrived and I saw the accessories in the box. I saw no advertizing anywhere that related its ability to be use an an ED filler. That is why I figured that it would take a word of mouth suggestion for a thread like this one. That really is a curious omission in advertizing, isn't it?

Search the reviews, as somebody has done a review of these recently and as Oxonion mentioned it is very easy to convert one of your No Nonsense pens, just fill slowly with ink of your choice, put a little silicon grease around the threads of the section and ready to use.
I have now done this with two of mine and they work fine and so far no leaks.

Good review here:
http://personal.telefonica.terra.es/web/te...t/dolcevita.htmhttp://www.avalonpens.com/Avalon-Pens/2606.html (mentions that it comes with an eyedropper, but doesn't explicitly say that it *is* an eyedropper-filler)
By the way, I found the above links by using Google (keywords: dolce vita eyedropper )

I have a Wality ED around here somewhere. It was a pretty good pen, other than it's rather nasty habit of belching out a drop our two of ink through the nib every so often. After about the fifteenth time it blobbed ink out on to my paper I took the hint and retired it. I also tried several Wality piston fillers and had trouble with them leaking around the ink view window. The kindly gentleman who sold it to me sent me a second one to try, which had the same defect, after which he refunded my money.

A fantastic pen that is an eye dropper is the Delta Dolce Vita Oversize.
This is a truly beautiful pen.It comes with its own eye dropper and also can work as a C/C so you got the best of all worlds.
I have this pen and everytime I take the pen out I get people admiring the pen for its beauty and present.
It is made of high quality material and it feels.
This is one of my favorite pens.
Be carefull only the oversize is an eye dropper. If you look at the smaller versions of the Dolce Vita they come only as a C/C.
Let us know what you choose.

I have it, too ... my 2nd fav pen (next to my Stipula Etruria). I don't use it as an eyedropper because I have heard complaints that the barrel stains from prolonged contact with ink. Please search for that issue here before possibly ruining a VERY expensive pen.

By all means, smooth it out. I purchased a Sheaffer school pen recently, and found it to be extremely scratchy. I did a few figure 8's and made a few strokes in the direction of the scratchiness. Ten minutes later, I had a $4 school pen that would give a $50 pen a run for its money!

Yes, that is a Sheaffer School Pen. I like eyedroppers too. It makes it easy to mix ink in them.
PS. I have an eyedropper modified by Nathan Tardif from swisher.com with the O ring and some silicone grease on the threads. It doesn't leak.

As I see you are in Chandigarh, you can easily buy a Camelin Ed filler pen. In fact during my holidays in India I purchased one for me for only Rs.22/-!! Writes superbly. Nib is small. Cap can be screw posted. Its a small pen but with cap posted balance is right for me!

Surely I am not the only one that sees the initials "ED" and is reminded of the all too common TV ads for a male complaint ending with 'disfunction'?
I just have trouble picturing myself arriving at a pen club meeting and announcing "Hey, guess what? I have ED...." I'm guessing that they wouldn't think I was referring to a super-flexy nib pen - or maybe they would.
Does anyone else have this reaction.....

Hi Fateh,
Hope you get your Delta Dolce Vita soon.
India is the mecca for ED pens. Camlin, Wality/Airmail, Ratnam, Guider, Bramham some of the makes that come to mind. Of all these makes, camlin steel nibs are the smoothest. Ratnam and Guider have their strengths in gold nibbed pens. Check out this
link. Also this

I am obviously late to your discussion, but if price is no object, I recommend David Oscarsons. His pens are made to be filled with an eye dropper, or you can use a catridge or a converter. Very nice touch. The pens are truly art and I believe worth the investment. Here are a couple of pictures of my "Celestial". One other thing to add, if you think the pen is beautiful looking, you should try the nib. As much work and thought goes into the nib as the design.

I have several of the Recife pens mentioned and love them for things like novel editing. They're not expensive, come in a bunch of colors (so I can keep each one with matching cap/ink), and edit for a bunch of things at once. That said, they don't get out much when I'm working on short stories, as I have been this year.
