Full Version: Christmas Card 2007

This is the front of a Christmas Card I'm producing this year to send to clients and relatives. I think that it's a bit more personal than the usual card and it gives me an opportunity to exercise my fountain pens.

The method used couldn't be simpler. On a suitable piece of paper, I wrote out the message in green ink, drew the border in red and the 'tree' in brown. I then pasted in some copyright-free decoration, and had the result colour-copied onto suitable card. I then wrote in the personal bits in red ink on each card before folding. On the insides I will be writing brief, personal messages. A card, written in your own hand with the recipient's name highlighted - what could be more personal!

By the way, if this abstract 'tree' appeals to you, please feel free to copy the idea (including the wording, if you like) in your own handwriting.
I've written this in a fairly stiff, formal italic, as I'm using it mainly as a means of advertising my work, but normal handwriting would probably be better for keeping in touch with friends and relatives.

If anyone decides to have a go at this, or a similar project, please post the result and let us all share in the festive spirit!

Very nice!! But you are killing me!! I can't seem to put a name and address on a generic card and send out much less make my own and hand letter them!!! Great Job, your friends and family should be very pleased!!

Wow, a beautiful Christmas card to us FNP-ers from caliken! My New Years Resolution (one of them, anyway) is to continue to work on my handwriting. Maybe next year I'll be able to post a reply in my own hand (optimism is a good thing, right?). May the new year bring peace and joy to you, and to all.

As for Doug, I'm working on calligraphy.
Nothing to compare to your perfect hand, Caliken, only a suggestion for theme variations.

Cheers

Thanks for posting this, tipstricks.
I think that it's well thought out and nicely constructed with excellent lettering. If you removed the 'FPN', made copies and then wrote in the names of the recipients, I'm sure it would be appreciated by all. It's a nice piece of work and an interesting variation........and it's personal.
