Hi, I recently had a part time job where I earned a fair amount of money so now I'm treating myself to something nice. I'm interested in either the Mont Blanc Starwalker FP, Boheme FP or 145 FP. I really like how the Boheme looks but I think it might be a bit too much to maintain cause of the twisting nib mechanism. I've heard that the Boheme's twisting mechanism can get jammed if you flush it like a regular pen?
Thanks
Brad

You are not supposed to get fluid in the mechanical components of the Boheme, but Montblanc makes a cleaner for it so this does not happen. Best thing is to buy a pack of cleaners (about $6) and reuse them. This should clean the pen without causing any problems, at least I have not had any problems with my Bohemes doing this. Hope this helps.

Where can I get the cleaner your talking about? Is it available in the MB boutiques?

Yes, I have bought a couple packs from my semi-local boutique. I have heard of people making them but I think it is worth it to buy a pack and reuse them.

You can also get the Boheme with a fixed nib and avoid any issues with the retractable one

you could order them off MB website. I believe they will ship them to you. You could refill them with water using a syringe.

So is the 145 the most expensive, followed by the Boheme and the cheapest is the starwalker?
Thanks

if I'm not mistaken they are roughly the same price, around US$400+ or so. Since you have set your mind on MB, I suggest you chose what you want based on design, functionality, size, etc. first.

Oh and if you are getting it from Ebay please be very careful. there are many fakes around. Most sellers won't stamp the guarantee (which is required for it to be valid). The MB and OMAS I got from Ebay have their guarantees unstamped.

I saw a fixed nib Boheme that was the size of a 149 posted.
Wonderful balance and great nib. I should have bought it!

I think I've made my decision, as I already have a 146 at Richard Binder's right now, it would be pointless for me to get the Chopin considering they're still of the Meisterstuck series. The Boheme seems like a wonderful pen but it seems to fat and short for me and it does look a bit weird for a 16 year-old so I'm getting the Starwalker for its more contemporary looks.
Thanks for all your suggestions everyone, great help.

I would personally have gone with a non-retracting Boheme or a Chopin, but a Starwalker is nice, too.

Well Shangas, I knew you were probably gonna say somethign liek that cause I know how much you love your Chopin. I also think the Chopin and Boheme are wonderful pens but it's just that the Starwalker is more contemporary. But I must ask a question, does the boheme without the retractable nib only take cartridges and would it be cheaper?
Thanks
