Hello,

I am very new to the whole pen collecting arena. I went into MB store looking for something in Boheme series and the sales person was very insistent on recommending the MB 100 Yr Anniversary Boheme 1906 FB (M). The total sales price (including tax) came in just over $2K. I don't really like the marble resin look of the pen - is it worth as collector item to buy this? Is $2K overpriced? Do you think it will go up in value and at what rate?

After all, this is 100 year anniversary item - I would appreciate very much on guidelines to valuation.

Confused.

If you truly want a Boheme then I would recommend going back and insisting on seeing the standard models (which are still overpriced!). The Mont Blanc Limited Edition pens don't appear to be rising in value in most cases and can be had at pen shows below retail. Please before you buy a Boheme sized pen try writing with one and make sure it is not too small for you to comfortably use. And look on Ebay and the Market place here for used ones that may save you a small fortune!

Thanks Pakmanpony! Yeh, the salesperson was really pushing the pen and all I really wanted was to get the Boheme Bleu FP. The price for this one seems all over the place on the internet so I am wary of fake pens. As for the Boheme 1906 - I can't get past how it looks - not my taste at all.

The boutique in your area still has some 100 Year LE lying around? Damn... wallbash.gif I knew I should have acquired one while there was still a few left in my area...

You might try looking for one, or requesting one, on the sales board here and on Pentrace's green board if you are wary of buying on the internet. Of course, nothing wrong with buying in the boutique either, you just pay a bit more.
