I am working on an old postal-type fountain pen. I was successful in pulling the nib and feed (with the tube) from the front. I'm now faced with trying to get the ink residue from inside the see-through barrel. I have brushes that fit in there, but haven't found anything that gets all the old ink off the inside of the barrel. It's a shame, too, because the restoration of the rest of the pen has been a breeze.
I'm also having the same trouble with a 1932 Parker Thrift Time pen. Whomever had it before me had damaged the inner cap, and the pen leaked all over the cap of the pen. The cap is semi-transparent, so the dried ink stains are a problem.
I ran both of these pieces through a sonic cleaner, will little effect.
Any ideas?
