I'm wanting to learn Italic Handwriting and eventually Italic Cursive. This will be my first time learning a new Handwriting style. I also have to note I am Left handed.

After reading the PINNED "Books on Italic Handwriting and Calligraphy" and many other threads,

I have ordered

1.)Italic Calligraphy and Handwriting Exercises and Text 1969
2.)Write Now: A Complete Self-teaching Program for Better Handwriting 1991

I was also careful to order each book with the Date that was on each book in the pinned section. Will I be missing anything from the new editions?

For instance I see a series of "Italic Handwriting Series Book's A-G (Paperback)" Which are the same author's as #2 on my current purchased list. Is this whole series recommended?

Are there other books that are recommended? For practicing and exercises? Or are these these most notable?

Thanks
Erik

The publications by the left-handed calligrapher, Gaynor Goffe are worth looking for. I believe that she also offers private instruction by mail.

(edited) - I see that some books are available, at the moment, throught Amazon.

Do you think her books are geared towards the Left Handed? Or would I just like at her work being another book for reference?

I guess I mean does she deal with issues left handed people deal with and present solutions to a left handed reader?

Not being left-handed myself, I didn't pay particular attention , but I'm fairly sure that I've seen some of her work specific to left-handedness.

Hate to admit it but I've seen a couple of her books, too, and didn't pay particular attention...And I am left-handed! embarrassed_smile.gif She has very nice exemplars--worth emulating. Glad you called attention to her work.

Best, Ann
