Full Version: Marlin Fountain Pen w/ Special Alloy NIB

Interesting find, a Marlin Fountain Pen, Lever fill with a NIB that says Special Alloy and Made in USA. The clip says Marlin and USA. I've tried to find any info but the only thing that comes up is a Gentleman named Marlin that worked on the 51, and I think he worked on the NIB, but I could be mistaken. Anyone have any info, I noticed in the database it does mention Marlin.

Nothing special smile.gif It is a steel nib with a "fancy" name probably found on inexpensive pens from the 40s/50s.

I wasn't sure because the NIB has a gold color, although not very shiny, and looks to be iridium tipped. Not sure of the age but I felt it was earlier than that. Thanks for the info though. Still never heard of Marlin before, guess its just a really obscure US brand, and also I've never seen a NIB that said Special Alloy before.
