I'm a persistent fan of Noodler's waterproof inks, so I tolerate and adapt to the nib creep.
I'm considering getting an Esterbrook desk set. However, I wonder if the downward direction plus Noodler's nib creep would cause the holder to fill up like a reservoir. Has anyone used an Esterbrook desk set with a waterproof Noodler's ink for a few weeks? Thanks in advance,

I have. And the creep is pretty bad. It really depends on the nib, so I have been experimenting. My 3668 actually lets ink do a lot more than creep... I do not think that ink finds its way off of the pen and into the base, but the ink on the nib is layed up THICK. It's a bad scene and one that will not continue!
I had a problem child 9xxx in there before, which was a REALLY hard starter... but not creepy.
So the search continues.

I've got 2 Estie desk pens loaded with Noodler's. One has Socrates (great color) and the other a mix of Noodler's black and Luxury blue. Both have some nib creep. I think how much creeping it does depends on the nib you are using, so experiment. And on the ink. There are differences between Noodler's colors, so experiment with that too. I love mine now that I've tweeked the variations. One sits beside my computer as I type - always at the ready! Marbled gray, silver ring, black tail sitting in a small art deco-y base. Both my pens currently have 2556 nibs in them. Just got a blue bandless desk pen today from an eBay purchase. This desk pen category opens up an opportunity for MORE pens to collect. (We all need another excuse, right?)

I am using Luxury Blue. The only Noodle that I have. But I will be getting more (Brown) and will continue the test.
I have about 30 NOS nibs... so I WILL crack the case!
FYI: I have four desk pens on my desk - all Esties with the chain that attaches to the base. I love them!
