I am so, so excited! I just bought my first Visconti, and also my first high-end pen. Arrived yesterday: the Visconti Art Nouveau. The one with a black body & silver spider & web overlay, and fine nib. I scored a deal on it, just about $300; it's sort of a combination birthday present to myself, and probable-last-month-before-a-car-payment thing. Just a few months ago, I would have ridiculed the notion that I would ever spend more than $100 on a pen. But I won't be able to afford pens like this once I have a car payment, unless I get the new job for which I've interviewed...but I digress...
I won't be able to ink it until Monday (my preferred inks are at work, where I do most of my writing). Although it did come with a bottle of Visconti ink, the ink is black, and I seriously dislike writing with black ink. At work, I have a lovely Noodler's Royal Purple and also Aurora Blue, and 2 whole days to think about which to put in this lovely, lovely pen! Suggestions as to which ink y'all think would go well with it are more than welcome!
Up till now, I have been using my Aurora Ipsilon extra fine; I am very interested to evaluate the differences. Once I think I've used it enough to have an opinion, I'll post a review.
The pen itself is just bloody gorgeous, though! Unfortunately, I don't personally know any other fountain pen enthusiasts, and when I showed it to my husband, he said something like, "That's nice. It seems a little big for you." Ack! So I had to tell somebody--or a lot of somebodies!--who would share my enthusiasm!
For this weekend, I'm confined to admiring it. Can't wait to use it on Monday!

I'm pretty sure most of us can relate. I don't know anyone who cares about FP's either. Actually, most think I'm nuts for spending more than a dollar on a pen.
Your Visconti is a nice pen. Enjoy it in good health and stick your tounge out at the husband (behind his back of corse) everytime he passes while you use it.
Maybe you'll write a review later?

I really love that pen! I seriously jealous!
Is it a c/c or a power filler?
Such a beautifull pen. One of my favorite design. With a visconti smoothness

You have a very beautiful pen, that you should enjoy for a very long time. But you should think twice about filling it up with purple ink, as it will stain your pen...Use a less expensive pen for such an ink.

It's a piston filler - single, as opposed to the double reservoir power filler.
It's one gorgeous pen!

Thanks! I will use the Aurora blue in this pen, & keep the purple in my Aurora.

Oh the day when I might find myself spending that kind of money for a pen. Envious, indeed.
A picture would be wonderful and would giv eyou something to do with the pen while you wait.

Congratulations! Friday the mailman brought my first Visconti as well, a blue Copernicus (I also got it for about $300). So far I am really enjoying mine. She's got a very nice fine nib which is a smooth writer and puts down a line that's just wet enough. As my principal interest is in vintage pens, I love the crescent fill mechanism (one of my first vintage acquisitions was a Conklin S-4). Yep, my first Visconti has made quite a positive impression. I hope that you really enjoy your new pen.
