I've been wanting this one for a while and finally sold enough other pens to buy it. Now the hard part - waiting for the package to arrive!!
I have an m605 and that size seems the best fit for me. I think this one is the most attractive one I've seen of the places/cities, although the Athens looks pretty sharp too! It's hard to tell only over the net - I don't have a chance to lay eyes or hands on them before I buy them. Of course being on FPN, I have friends that are only too happy to buy them from me if it doesn't work out - like the m800 I sold this week - it was too big/heavy for me to write my 3-4 page notes at work!
All my coworkers' and especially my wife's eyes glaze over when I start talking about pens, so thanks for letting me ramble!!

http://www.stylophilesonline.com/09-06/09gp.htmCongrats,
It is a beautiful pen. I agree about the size of the M620 - just right for everyday use. I have a Piccadilly Circus, but look enviously at the Grand Place as the colours are so much friendlier on the eye. Whilst the P. Circus does echo the neon lights of the location, yet it is a little garish in a pen. The Grand Place is much more the sort of pen one can use anywhere (it's not as if I work in Marketing or the creative professions). Others may disagree, it is just my opinion.
Enjoy the pen.

I received my Grand Place about a month ago. I looked at every picture that I could find on the internet. Your pen will not look like the pictures on the internet. It will be much, much better looking in person. I don't know why, but this is one pen that just doesn't photograph well. Don't get me wrong, it is a beautiful looking pen in pictures, but it is absolutely stunning in person. It is a pen that looks at you and says, "I'm stylish, classy, and stunningly beautiful."
I think you will find that you have made a wonderful purchase. Enjoy!

It sure looks beautiful! I was wondering if it is easy to see the ink level in the reservoir since there is no ink view window and the material seems a bit dark.

You can't see the ink level.

That pen is one of the most beautiful pelikan makes in my opinion.
Congrats!

Where did you order your pen? I agree that it is one of my favorite Pelikans... and now I think I need one.

I've had a Grand Place for about a year, got mine last Christmas from my wife. It's a great size and a awesome looking pen. It's my favorite of the Cities/Places pens! Mine is currently sporting a Binderized crisp italic nib. Hope you love yours as much as I do mine. It's a real piece of art!

I lurked on Ebay nearly forever until I bought one from Regina Martini at a great price.

Congrats. It is a stunner, IMO. One of the most striking of the Place/Cities pens. Mine was a Christmas gift last year. A bright blue ink (currently Diamine Mediterranean but PR blues are good) turned out to be a perfect fit for mine. The deep, vibrant blue veins are lovely.
