Omas Milord Paragon (mid size Paragon, not the full sized one), Piston Filler Smooth Fine 18 kt nib. This green color is no longer available.

I recently purchased this one. The previous seller had some trouble with ink spilling in the cap, so it was sent off to RB for the once over. It writes a smooth, wet, fine line. Very nice, but I'm finding that I still use my Pelikans more often so off to the marketplace it goes. The below pictures are from the previous seller... I've only owned this pen for 1 week.

Price - $215 + $7 shipping with insurance to the CONUS.

Is that a serious bid??? Are you nuts?

Anyways, pen is sold pending payment.

Funny? Boxerdad has been all over this board with these inane offers.

It made me think that my toddler got on my computer.

Wow. I never had the knobs to make counter offers like that. Good luck.

Reminds me of the story about the young man who asked each young woman that he encountered, "wanna (add a term for physical fun)". While getting slapped and laughed at a lot, it turns out that every now and then, it works.

Tom,
I would lke to think that the Marketplace will remain a place where people are serious about the pens they buy, and buyers about the offers they make. If anyone wishes to go down the route you admire, then it should be done b/c.

I did not, and would not make such an offer. Jump on the person who did. I just made a whimsical comment.

I own an Omas pen, paid a fair price for it and love it.

I would like to think that pen fans had a sense of humor. Boxerdad's offer was obviously tongue-in-cheek. A b/c offer would, presumably, put some pressure on the seller to take time to respond.

A better approach is "How about a cheeseburger and a ______?" Then after getting slapped in the face, the correct response is "What's the matter, don't you like cheeseburgers?"

Thats good too. But when it works, you have to buy a cheeseburger.

If it was tongue-in-cheek he would not have littered at least four other sale posts with asinine offers.
Dean
Wow, I leave for the day and come back to several replies. I'll admit that I was a bit peaved about that offer and I'm not convinced it wasn't a serious offer. I've made offers $5, $10, and maybe even $20 less, but I even feel a bit bad with those offers unless the price is really outragious. Anyways Ohio State beat Michigan, so I'm in a good mood now biggrin.gif. And I have no problem with someone low balling me, I'd just prefer it be back channel in which case I politely reply, "no thanks".
