Full Version: PIC. Vintage Pen Eyecandy. Wahls that are not Wahls.

Recently posted a Diamond Medal pen that "clearly" is Parker production. I have a bunch, have some catalog info (via Sears) and have seen more than i own.

But this next batch is at least as much fun.

Gold Bond "Doric" models, by Wahl (IMHO), probably the biggest bunch shown on line or in books...

I have no company info on these but "clearly" they are Wahl Production.

So far found in two sizes and in green and red colors. Would not be shocked if Black lurks. All plunger fill. Have to compare color to see if these are transparent Kashmir and Morocco or if more of a pure green/red such as found iirc on the later Wahl Vacuum (Vacuum- FIll, something like that) pen that folks have bad habit to call the "round Doric"

Though Bruce before has asked if we sometimes find things pretty just because they are scarce, I actually find this cap-band prettier than the bands typically found on wahl-branded Dorics.

Dunno too much on history of GB. Guessing these pens were jobbed out, but not sure about other GB's that do not resemble better known pens.

Thanks for the post and the pic David. There were many Gold Bond pens made by Wahl-Eversharp in other styles, too. I have at least 4 different era/model Wahl-Eversharp look-alikes in my collection.

AFAIK. Gold Bond was THE house brand of Montgomery Ward, and they bought and sold pens under that "private label" from a number of manufacturers over the years.. While I can not point to any MW literature right now that says "made for us by Wahl-Eversharp", they are IMHO definitely Wahll-Eversharp production.

I drank too much.

I read the title as:

BIC. Vintage Pen Eyecandy. Wahls that are not Wahls., A major Yeeper

Thanks for the info. Seems similar to set up Sears had with Diamond Medal.

Fun pens.
