So this is what it's all about..

Total wetness of nib from the time I uncap till I lay it down

Pick up P51 and uncap
starting my motor..

Then furiously,

I write, write and write until I get tired
Then I get to write s'more

There is no tire in me, but joy
I touch the pad and it just glides..

Yoo Hoo!!

C'mon and catch me if you can!! bunny01.gif

I love this pen!

Thank you FTN friends! cloud9.gif

I am telling you folks,
This is me, the kid in the candy store..

Watch out Blue the Croc,
Here comes the Peter to get the clock in your tummy
Take all the time I have forgotten about the joy of writing
And
Freedom that comes with it..

I named the P51 today
My favorite plane, P51 the Mustang..

Swim in the swamp of blue
Let my P51 fly the blue yonder..

Yoo Hoo!!

Thanks! cloud9.gif

Too funny!!
Writing with a "51" is addictive, for sure. A "51" English Aero was my first school pen at good old King Alfred's in Wantage. I've never stopped using it and it is still my favorite pen, although I now have some far fancier "51"s to play with.
Maybe I'll name my India Black DJ "Shrike" after the Focke Wulf 190, and they can fight it out on the Chatter Forum.

That will be a quite an air battle..

Wait, I will have a Pelikan 605 coming
I wonder what would it become of?
The Count Blue?

Regardless..

I brought them to work today and they are just dandy..

Oh, I have P51 special and P51
So, I do have a pair of these..

I might just start my collection of P51's

What a commencement!!

My father bought his parker 51 special in New York in the fifties. A few years ago he gave me because he tend to use his computer and not fountainpnes (generation gap smile.gif ). I didn't realised this marvellous pen until I began to use it... wow, this is maybe my best pen! For example - no matter what kind of ink I use - I like to use this pen when I'm writing on postcards. It's also very good for daily use in the office and practising calligraphy as well (of course flexible nibs are better but when you are planning to write more quickly: the parker 51 special is a good solution).

To sum it up, Peter I can understand you. wink.gif

curently own 3. 2 regular and a Demi. I like the Demi better since shirt
pockets are not long enough for the others.

Love them all.

Funny thing is that fine nib I have on these driving me nuts.
My 146P is not being treated fairly, as it glides on paper with much thicker width even with fine nib.
These fatties leave so slight toothy marks as to give just enough bites on paper
leaving wet trail as long as chicago river all in montblanc blue

I am in love

I just love the generation gaps too... but mine is the opposite.. he basically has a $1500 solitaire machine... sheesh... "Hey dad, I'll program the VCR, just gimme that pen!"

BTW, which castle is pictured in your avatar? is that in Hungary?

Our friend Griz has a secret vault behind the bookcase that not even
Mrs Giz knows about. He's really cornered the market and is ready to
unleash his wares. wink.gif Did you see the beauty that he just obtained?

Guess what..

I just found another rope thinking I'd be off to a safer side..

Not!!

I got myself M605..

I think I am in a load of trouble
Much, much bigger than what I'd get from my missus

What do I do now..

Oh brother.. headsmack.gif

I just got my second 51, off that well-known auction site. When I received it I noticed the nib seemed a little bent back, as if some former owner had a very heavy hand. The tines weren't quite lined up. So, exerting a little careful body English I finessed the nib back a little closer to its intended shape - if I want to get it perfect I'll need to send it out. But even now it writes beautifully. As it has a deep plum colored body, I visited the local pen shoppe and purchased some PR "Arabian Rose" for it, and ink and pen are working together harmoniously.

Now I see and know the difference between a "full size" and a "demi" 51, the latter of which describes the cocoa-bodied pen I purchased a few weeks back. Of course the full size pen is slightly longer and wider (and noticeably heavier), but the main difference appears to be the filler. I can't be sure, but it looks like the full size 51 can accept significantly more ink than the demi.

It absolutely holds more ink. And if you got a plum and not a cordovan pen, you got a rare one!
