Just found another eclectic batch of neat BHR goodies in the wild, added a few from the collection and VOILA, another sale with FP's made out of my favorite material! Let's take a look at Batch #1 (6-pens) & see what you can't live without...
From left to right...
1) ((SOLD TO HJ.A.)) MOORE L-82 BCHR FP, Clipless Model w/GF lever (~4.5" long), 14K-#2 XF nib with good flow & plenty of flex but a bit on the sharp side, almost a needlepoint, lever filler, very crisp chasing & imprint, very minor oxidation but almost looks brand new at first glance, no brassing, early model with "PAT.PENDING" on cap indicia and barrel imprint calls it a "LEVER SELF-FILLING" pen, overall condition is "Excellent"...PenEmporium Price $75.00!
2) ((ON HOLD FOR T.W.)) LEACH SAFETY (Franklin PA.) BHR FP, Clipless Model w/Add-On Sterling Silver "Snake" Clip (~4-7/8" long), 14K-#2 Conklin Fine-Flex nib with good flow but fairly worn at the tip & a bit on the toothy side, Nickel-Plated lever, ornate hand-engraved Floral pattern cap-band w/Block-style engraving on it's indicia: VRT, light but even oxidation on cap & barrel, minor wear & tear with some pin-point marks on lower barrel and a few scratch-marks near cap-top (where clip was originally slipped on), overall condition is "Very Good" on this rather uncommon model...PenEmporium Price $85.00!
3) ((SOLD TO D.J.)) HELD (Janesville, WI) BCHR FP, Clipless Model w/GF Trim on filling mech. (~5.25" long), 14K-#2 Medium Flex w/great flow & flex but looks too small for the pen (I can replace nib & feed if the size bothers you, but this is what it came with), unusual "twist-bar lever filler" mechanism (pull/twist GF bar counter-clockwise which depresses pressure bar, then twist back to original position and rubber sac will fill!), twist-bar is engraved with HELD name, barrel is hand engraved with name E. RISER (looks to be self-engraved by owner), crisp chasing pattern & minimal oxidation/fading (still fairly Black), very minor wear & tear on cap & barrel w/some pin-point marks on grip-section, overall condition is "Very Good" on this very uncommon model...PenEmporium Price $85.00!
4) BASCHPEN (by L. Basch & Co./Chicago) BCHR FP, Clipless Model w/Nickel-Plated lever (~5-5/16" long), 14K XF Semi-Flex Basch nib w/good flow & a little on the toothy side, good imprint on cap and crisp chasing from top to bottom, still fairly Black w/no visible oxidation & very minor wear, hand-engraved in Block-style on barrel: PEARL TURNER, overall condition on yet another uncommon model is "Excellent-"...PenEmporium Price $75.00!
5) THE REXALL PEN (United Drug Co.) #35 BCHR FP, Clipless Model (~5-5/16" long), 14K-#5 Fine Flex nib w/good flow & flex but several hairline splits on middle to left hand side of face (doesn't affect performance at all, feels nice!), eyedropper filler, very crisp chasing & imprint w/little or no wear or oxidation (very clean!), unusual looking 2-piece feed which works great, overall condition is "Very Good" (would be higher if not for hairlines in nib!)...PenEmporium Price $95.00!
6) SANFORD & BENNETT "Commercial" BCHR FP, Clipless Model w/Two Ornate GF Barrel Bands (~5-5/16" long), 14K-#2 XF nib w/good flow but on the sharp/needlepoint side, eyedropper filler, very crisp chasing w/oxidation occurring in the etched design but not on the smooth areas, good imprint, minimal wear & tear with only some pin-point marks on the grip section, no visible brassing on barrel bands, overall condition is "Very Good +"...PenEmporium Price $70.00!
