I know Tryphon and Woodbin carry the regular J bars. But does anyone know where I can come across a new stud pressure bar for a button filler (or an old one for that matter - happy to buy one from someone with an extra).

I believe that is what they are called. It's the type of pressure bar that clips on to the top of the pen where the button goes in. I may have the name wrong(?).

Thanks!

I think Tryphon carries those pressure bars, too, in a couple of sizes.

Thanks Possum. I just checked again. If they do carry them I can't find them sad.gif They do have the standard duofold pressure bars for button fillers. But this one is just a bit different than those. It has an extra piece of metal that clips to the button end of the pen.

Hi There,
I think I know the type you mean, they are a triple type of bar used in the earlier Duofolds, where the bar is not pressing against the section or as in some pens or slotted into the threaded section (Swan twist fillers, differant type of fillling but that's another story). These hook over at the button end, making the pressure bar independant of any stresses on the barrel or section.

The bad news is, that I do think you will only get one other than from a parts pen, and in my limited experiance they are uncommon to come across. I have only handled A/F Victory pens, so can't confirm or deny that, that is the type of pressure bar they used. If you do find a source for them, you could find yourself very popular round here.

Ready to stand corrected on the above.

The hanging type of pressure bar is indeed hard to find. The few I have I am hording for clients pens. But the good news is that you can modify the standard pressure bar to fit in the pen. You'll have to play with the length, maybe trim the piece that presses on the sac, and don't forget to put a curve in the section end so that it fits down along side the sac nipple.
