OK, I was having a rough experience writing with my CS Churchill Lever filler. There are tiny bits of stuff coming through ink and down the nib. I flushed the pen and this is what comes through. I can see it from inky all the way to the clear water stage of flushing and have saved it in a sterilized Parker ink bottle.

I tried to touch some of the particles and they "melted away" into blue ink. My ink used in the pen is Florida Blue and it is less than 1 month old.

There are some solids that do not melt away in the water -- black color with ridges.

Sorry, this is the best macro I can take.

Any thoughts?
I kept flushing the pen until the amount of discharge is minimized in particle size and quantity. But they are still coming = (

I do believe they are the cause of the scratchy feel on the nib and some choking, too.

Hi KC,

If I recall correctly, CS used to have issues with their sacs (pre-new owner ?). Can you by chance open it easily and change the sac ?

Denis.

Yikes, KCkc! ohmy.gif

Have you written to Conway Stewart? I know that Mary Burke is really good at answering questions; she replies very quickly whenever something is posted on Pentrace about Conway Stewart pens....

Hi KcKc,

if your lever filler is from an older production run, it is very liekly to suffer from the bad batch of sacs problem. It certainly looks that way to me. I suggest you do what Maja proposes, and contact Mary Burke via Pentrace or at Luxury Brands USA.

I think you can do that through their site as well:

I asked Mary a question directly (ie. not through Pentrace) about a modern CS and her answer was super-quick....Her e-mail address that she posted on Pentrace a couple of weeks ago is: mvburkeusa@comcast.net
