That's an Imperial. It might even be a Triumph Imperial from the late 90s. Hard to tell. It's c/c, that's for sure. I don't think any PFMs were c/c fill. I will say, though, that I've had two in this size/shape (one old, one new) and they were both good writers.

it looked like c/c to me too.
The copper J is SHINY! For real, I have compared it to all the other Esties and it has almost NO marks, scratches, or other, blemishes. Freaky actually!

Hello there,
As you surmised: not a PFM. Wrong filling system, wrong size, wrong nib material. But taken on its own merits as an Imperial, probably a nice writer.
It's a vain hope, I know, but sometimes I find myself wishing that eBay sellers didn't think that {a} every inlaid-nib Sheaffer is a PFM; and {b} every self-filling Sheaffer is a Snorkel. A little learning, truly, can be a dangerous thing.
Cheers,
Jon

Yep...I have been blessed to have found them all. It took me long time and a few IMPERIAL purchases along the way that I just KNEW were PFMs. You live, you learn.

What really caught my eye is that some of them even have the chalkmarks.
Fortunately, with the aid of your pictures, few of us will ever tell an Imperial for a PFM!

Series I, because of its minimalistic design.

I like the III series the best, and of that the Maroon model. The one I have has a stub nib which makes it that much more preferred. Second would be the IV, or is it the V, or I or II? Oh hell, I like them all!

Tell me about it, I want just one PFM, a III, thought I had one, but it turned out to be an Imperial IV instead, the seller (not a pen person) is making good on the deal so I can’t complain, but I was really looking forward to having the III in my hands. It is a nice looking pen, and once I get the barrel fixed (small crack where it screws into the section, I will either try fusing it or replacing the barrel, it is the green) it will make a very nice gift for Diane.
But I still want a III.
