I have an Estie J with a disintegrated J-bar.

I have the replacement coming from Tryphon. But how do I get it to stick in the barrel?

(The lever in intact and working fine)
Gerry
Y'all just stick it in place and forget it...

Best tool for removal of old one are forceps - needle forceps being the best. Very narrow needlenose pliers also work, and some kinds of tweezers do too - although they don't usually have the gripping power needed. Just grab the closest part of the bar and pull it out.

The new one will be held in by the J part of the J-bar, which presses against opposite side of the inside of the barrel.

Insert it with the J part (short leg) away from the lever - the flat side towards the lever (the lever has to press against the flat part to squeeze the sac, which will sit in the crook of the J.

Push the J-bar in with the forceps, pliers or whatever is handy until it reaches the end - ensuring the alignment is maintained. Make sure the near end of the bar will clear the sac nipple on the section when the section is inserted. Try the lever to see it operates the J-bar correctly.

You're done!

Check the sac, dust with talcum and insert the sac/section into the barrel and water test.
