Did the J series blue come in any other 'blue' than cobalt (or icicle)? In other words, was there ever a dark solid blue J series (not the pastels, of course)?

Thanks for any info. I was shown a pen that supposedly was a double jeweled dark solid blue. I have not seen this color listed anywhere.

There are English made Esterbrook in solid colors, but most found are LJ or SJ in size. The only J sized solid color pens I have seen are cutaway demonstrators from England, which doesn't mean they didn't make them in that size, just that they are far less common.

Someone had pictures of an interesting dark blue Esterbrook awhile back. From memory, it almost had a oil-slick look about it... or something.

Thanks for the replies. I am now pretty sure this pen was authentic. Also, I found a pic of what appears to be a solid blue Esterbrook J on Esterbrook.net (on J series, the third of the four options).

If you are referring to the top blue pen on that page, it is not a solid blue, but rather a standard blue marble. Maybe it's just a poor photograph, or perhaps not the most photogenic angle for that pen.

Brian,

How modest.--Now look at the one just above the demonstrator at the bottom. That Esterbrook site sure has some unusual pens. If you ever find one like it you should grab it. (ha ha ha)
