Hi all,
I am the director of the McLean County Museum of History. located in Bloomington, Illinois. I have been collecting information for our archives on Charles Keeran, of Bloomington, who is widely credited with the invention of the Eversharp pencil.

The museum collection does not contain an example of his pencil. What would you recommend as a good example of his invention. Would any of you care to donate a good example? We are a 501 © 3 organization and such a donation would be tax deductible.

If I need to purchase one for the collection, what should I expect to pay?

Hello. When I think of the classic example of an Eversharp pencil, this is what I think of:

I know that there are currently plenty for sale on eBay and you should probably expect to pay between $10-$30. It really depends on the size of the pencil, the design on the barrel, and the condition it's in.
