I was just looking in Levenger's catalog at their journal refills. It says you can use them "as is" or slip them into one of Levenger's wildly expensive leather journal covers. From the picture, it looks like they lay flat like a Moleskine. The paper is said to be "high-grade 60lb. text stock, which welcomes nibs, rebuffs inky show-through and feels satisfying in the hand." These refills come in three sizes ranging in price from $12 to $24 for a package of 2.

What they don't tell in the catalog is how many pages there are in a journal refill. If anybody uses them, I'd like to know how many pages there are and if the paper really is fountain pen friendly.

The paper isn't FP friendly at all. It's rough to the touch, the bleed-through is horrible (with an XF nib!), and it feathers like crazy. I actually requested a refund from Levenger, I hated my refills so much.
