Waterman's Ink-vue, one might speculate, was that company's Vacumatic fighter- Lines, Barrel Tranparency, Funny Filling set up near the back, etc. Pretty pens, they are surprisingly uncommon relative to the mid-late 30's Parkers and Sheaffers. I've owned a few and sold a few; certainly i find them charming.

So when a fellow collector offered the following item, i had to grab it.

It is an Ink-Vue Fetus, mostly formed but lacking some of the final details.

The pen is a blank. No stepped end pieces turned. No groove for capband and no capband. No clip, no imprint, no lever, etc.

This is the only one i've ever handled or seen. Cool item. Sort of like a Demonstrator though perhaps more scarce. Of coure, not everyone sees the charm in the funky stuff, but i'm tickled pink to have added this one to my collection. Smuggled from the Factory? Sent out with sales reps? One can but speculate.
