Last month I bought a Stephens' no 270 at an antics marked here in Oslo (Norway). It clearly needs some work, because I can hear some rattling noise inside the barrel. As fare as I can tell the pen does not draw up any ink when I operate the lever. Except from that it seems to be in good condition. The nib looks fine. I have tried it by “dipping” and it writes very nice.

My question is: Does anybody have any experience and suggestions about how I should proceed about fixing this problem? My first thought is to remove the section from the barrel and take a look inside, but it seems quite stuck. Does anybody know if the section is a “slip fit” or if the section is threaded? Any suggestions on how to take the pen apart?

Any advice would be highly appreciated.
