Hello all, I have a Safey pen that has a ton of flex... Which I love! But on the back stroke the pen is very toothy and spits ink on the page. I know this is pretty common, because I personally have bought a lot pens that have this problem. It seems to happen more to safeties... (At least thats what I see)
Anyway... Is there anything I can do to fix this? I love the feel of the nib, so I would rather not replace it, but it could not stay in my rotation with a problem like that.
Do I just have to deal with it?
PS I do write a little harder than normal, but even when I barely touch the page, it doesnt like me very much...
Thanks for your help
Cheers!

Hi Bryant,
It sounds to me like the tines are not completely aligned, so that one of them drags on the back stroke. This could result in a catchy and ink-splattering stuttering stroke. If you are pressing "too" hard on a nib with any flex, that can also exacerbate the problem by splaying the tines.
Do you have a loupe to examine the tines of the nib?

Best regards, greg
