I received a nice shipment of the new Lamy Al-Star in the new Ocean Blue color and the new Pearl White Lamy Studio. They are very, very nice.

In fact, I think the Ocean Blue Al-Star is the nicest of the colors in the entire line. It's bright, vibrant and cheerful and, like all the Al-Stars, writes extraordinarily well. The pearl white Studio must be seen to be appreciated and the photos I've seen haven't captured the pearlescence of the finish. Think uber-expensive option for the fancy paint job on a new Cadillac and you're getting close. And it's got the amazing two-tone 14K Lamy nib that's so fun to look at (and use!).

I agree--the Studio in pearl white has a finish with the depth and luster of a very high-quality automotive pearl. I've yet to see a photograph that can show the depth. The comparison to the brand new Cadillac paint is the best description I've heard yet.
