""WAHL SIGNATURE PEN 14K", is in very good condition as seen in the attached photos except half of tip (14K) missing"

Ahhhh yes... the mindset of some eBay sellers never ceases to amaze me...

I guess it helps if we are easily amused when we see things like that.

I saw one on eBay the other day, and I can't find it now. I think it was a vintage Burnham or some English pen.

The seller said it 'has a short nib'.

Scroll down to the pictures and... damn right it was short! Both the tines were missing, leaving a stubby sort of semi-circle. :S

Oh, on a slightly different note, I stumbled across this English eBay seller selling excellent condition vintage English pens - I'm not advertising them or anything, I just wish all eBay sellers would photograph their items like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Marbled-Blue-Purple-...1QQcmdZViewItem

Isn't it wonderful for a change?? I'm sick of looking at tiny blurry images of an ill-lit black pen with half a nib...

How funny is that! That has to beat anything I've seen in recent memory.

Wow, these pics are great! I really feel tempted (especially the "51" they have in the shop...). But isn't an extra charge for a seller to post such extra size pics? Do anybody know how much does it cost? I'm wondering since the starting price is only 5£...

When listing an item, you can go into the HTML editor and add in HTML <img> tags for using externally hosted pictures. I don;t know if this seller did that or not though. It doesn't cost anything to do this.

EDIT: Just had a look at that eBay listing again, and it would appear that their images were hosted externally on their website.

Well, you could scrap the gold.

At least the pen comes from a non-smoking family.

That is a beauty. And that nib looks like it's ever so slightly left-footed oblique. Perfect for my hand.

Good luck!

This is even better than the other thread about the bent nib pen that you can use to write in those hard to reach places. roflmho.gif

Well at least the guy provided clear photos.

But. . but. . . but. . . somebody paid $12 and change for it!!!! Must have a pen at home with a bad barrel and everything else good, and bought it for parts. At least I hope the buyer does not plan to use it as is. rolleyes.gif

The gold in the broken nib will probably pay for it.
