dare_nova, you can try (and I will too), but I doubt that either of us will get one with the patterning that Neo has.
Argh...those are gorgeous, Neo. Now I know why you made that massive selloff a few months back!

Hi all, thanks for the comments.
Yeah, I did that big selloff a while ago to focus more into particular pens, especially Visconti's and Pilot Vanishing Points (also posted photos in another thread). I'm quite happy with how that went, down to only around a dozen pens that I still want to sell.
With the resin patterning, they are all unique, but of course you can get similar looking ones. I like the fact they are unique, but some people complain that they get "yucky" colour splats. I'm still playing around with the camera settings, I'll be sure to take more photos later.
Regarding the camera, I totally love it. It wasn't cheap, but after reading reviews online I think it is pretty much the best camera you can get, short of going to a D-SLR. Even if I could accept the added cost and weight of a D-SLR, the added cost and weight of the lens is just too much for me. I think my biggest complaint with the Powershot G9 would be noise management, there can be quite a bit of noise at higher ISO.

Very pretty! I have the midi in blue and it's quite nice but it does not have the gold nib. What sort of nib is in your mini?

Updating my collection of Van Gogh's

Added the Van Gogh Verde Green (Swisher Edition), the Vanilla White, and the Tortoise Demonstrator. The Sandal Red Mini not pictured.

Sorry I didn't see that question about the nib on the Mini, it's a steel nib in F.

Wow, your Laguna Verde looks very cream-dominant on this photo, with only a smattering of green -- on my screen it looks very similar to the Vanilla. I did not realise there could be quite this much variation. Mine is a nice shade of "pastel snot green"!

Ah, the rare and highly sought-after version that came with the box of Kleenex and a small package of Tylenol Cold & Sinus?

Nice collection (again), Neo. Someday I'm going to own one of these things, too.

I fell in love with the Van Gogh at first sight and bought myself a Musk Green Maxi with an 18k fine nib. Sometimes when I'm writing with her and need to mull over an idea, I'll hold her up to a light and marvel.
I had me heart set on Ocean Blue but, c'est la vie. I will keep my eyes open.
I have one of the older Van Gogh's, NeoTiger; my clip is thinner and has the Visconti name lightly engraved on the face as opposed to on the side in a black arch and the cap locks on with the groovy three-cam closure (pun intended).
I am happy-happy-joy-joy with my Van Gogh; especially since I have her loaded with Noodlers Apach Sunset!

Yeah, the Verde is a bit greener in person.... I guess the angle the pen was on showed more cream colouring than green, but the overall colour is a bit more green. It does look very similar to the Vanilla in this photo.

Hmmm, which one is your favorite? The tortoise, the vanilla, ...?
Since you have so many, could you comment on the differences between M and F nibs for the Maxi size? Thanks.
PS: I see that you have a bunch of Opera Clubs as well. Feel free to make any M versus F comments for it as well

Both the F and M are quite wide actually, in that I'd call the F an M, and the M almost B. All nibs are extremely smooth, buttery smooth.
The nib feel of the Opera Club and the Van Gogh are similar.
It's hard to choose a favourite.... the Ocean Blue gets the most use, because I use blue ink often and prefer to match ink with pen colour. From purely aesthetic point of view, I really like the semi-transparent Tortoise.
Green is usually my favourite colour, but my particular example of Musk Green is a bit plain compared to the Ocean Blue and Tortoise.

Here's a writing sample from the Van Gogh's, in comparison to similar nibs from Omas, Bexley, and Pilot.
<img src="http://neotiger.googlepages.com/VGWriting.jpg">
The Omas fine is considerably thinner, but the 18k Bexley is similar to the Visconti fine.
Pilot medium is similar to Visconti fine, which is normal.
Steel Bexley fine is finer than their 18k.

NeoTiger, I'm envious of your Van Gogh collection. I have the black and sandal Maxis. Did you buy your pens in a store, or online? Because Van Goghs are all so different, I found that I'm going to have to buy them in a store where I can see them in person. This will be slow-going, though, as there's only one store in Dallas that has them (to my knowledge) and that store doesn't ever have a wide selection. Maybe that's a good thing from an economical standpoint. If you ordered your's online, did you just "chance it" with what you got?

Has anyone purchased the new Van Gogh colors -- the ones with the gold instead of silver trim? If so, let's have some reviews and some photos!

Hiya... I purchased mine online, mostly from ebay when I see a good deal.
I know that there is a lot of variation in the patterns of these pens, so I considered it a bit of a "lucky draw" and see what sort of patterns I'd get.
