Not to offend anyone but, honestly, I fail to see the appeal of this pen.

I'm guessing the cap is supposed to represent the tank on a Duc, but ... I agree with you, I don't see the appeal, either.

Here's FPNner Apollo's review. It's apparently a different color, but I think it's the same model. The picture links in the review appear to be broken.

I think it's designed to be NOT just another fountain pen looking fountain pen, and it at least succeeds in achieving that ambition.

Yep, I reviewed the pen. I no longer own the pen and I no longer have the original pics that went with the review, but the particular Ducati I had was orange with a red racing stripe.

It was an interesting pen, but you would do far better buying a Pilot Knight instead. In my opinion, the Ducati was and still is way overpriced and the cap design could use some tweeking. A conversation piece for sure, but would I ever buy another? No.... Even when I owned the Ducati it was the least pen used. Not the greatest looking pens either, but at least they aren't as ugly as some of the monstrosites produced by Krone.

In a word...yuck.

First pen - That actually looks sorta cool, although the cap looks terrible.

Second pen - What IS that???

The first thing I thought when I saw the picture was, "It looks like a sleeker, sexier version of the Core." So yeah, definitely not as ugly as the Core; I sort of like it.

I also own two Cores. (And yes, they're ugly as sin, but they write well.)

That might be a daft pen, but the Ducati 999 sure is a nice bike.

Looks like everything inspired by Ducati should look horrible and overdesigned:

But as italian I must say the "Monster" ducati is the icon bike of the 2000s...

Never was a fan of the thing either and at $200-$300, I could find better things to spend my money on. The concept of fit, form and function did not apply to this and that ugly "gem" incrusted pen

It isn't a real Ducati unless it is Desmodromic

Ducati does well when it comes to designing bikes..... Pens...... it's just not their cup of tea............

I could never get used to the kick start function to begin writing with it.

I really really like bikes but this pen looks more like a key chain then a pen to me.
