I just received a Sheaffer 3-25 in the mail. It was Sheaffer's less expensive alternative to the Balance. Very similar with smaller cap band and smaller nib - the 3-25. Anyway, my macro technique has improved a bit, so I'm posting a few photos. I may try again with a more interesting background. Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

Nicely Done,

Thank you for showing us your new pen. thumbup.gif

My only suggestion would be to set the pen so that the imprint and logo on the clip are upright. (top photo)

Thanks again.

The problem was that "Sheaffer" on the clip would be upside down. What a dilemma.

What you meant to say was that the 3-25 was a cheap alternative to the lifetime as they are both balances. Nice marine green color - I picked up a very sharp marine green desk pen at the Ohio show. I'd say when you post the pen for the picture if the imprint is in view show that right side up and don't worry about the clip. Nice pics.

My mistake. I should have picked that up - its getting late in the day...anyway, I agree with Roger - the imprint is more important.

Nice coloring on that pen and enjoyed the pictures (no matter which direction the imprint was).

I assume the pen has no white dot on the rear?
Roger W.
Bernardo;

It's a 3-25 - a pen with a 25 year gaurantee so there will not be a white dot on the end of the barrel. Anyway, this pen is too early and would only have the dot above the clip.

The 3-25 line occupied the 3rd level in the Sheaffer lineup (counting down from the top level occupied by the Lifetime items), which variously had four or five levels at different points in the run of the Balance. The 3-25 (and 5-30) Balance lines no longer bore the guarantees implied by the model numbers (nor the price implied by same) as they had when those designations were earlier used for flat-top pens.
