Hi Folks

Was in my local stationary store when I glanced at a display of A5 notebooks.

My first reaction was 'more Moleskine's' but then I noticed they had Blue, Red and Black covers!

Anyway they look so similar to Moleskine (Black notebook in particular) although the cover is a matt black smooth cover, and have an elastic closure AND an expandable inner pocket!

They are a range of notebooks called Notables supplied by Tiger brand and here in the UK they are less than half price of what I pay for a Moleskine and having tested several inks (Waterman Black, J Herbin Sapphire Blue & Noodler Luxury Blue) I found no feathering and little bleed through compared to my Moleskine's which I find terrible except with Noodlers BP Black, the only ink I had a problem with in this new notebook was Mont Blanc Black ink which feathered slightly with some bleed through.

My notebook uses a Cream 80gsm acid free paper, I'm a convert!!!

I would be interested in buying sme of these, but unfortunately Moleskines work out cheaper for the moment, as I would have to buy those Notables in a £175 bulk order...

Wonder if Staples in Aberdeen sells anything like them... I've still not had a look there.

@Patrick

If you find any in Aberdeen then please let me know. I am sometimes there, either Woolmanhill or Foresterhill, but never for long enough to have much of a look around the city centre.

Does anyone know of a distributor or retailer in the United States? Thanks.

I am not a number
I can't get the link to work. Can you let me know where the stationer is so that I can get in touch with them?

Thanks!
