I found a Pelikan M200 that I bought about 25 years ago and would like to put a new nib in it. From reading in this forum it seems that the M200 medium nib runs a bit narrow. Can anyone confirm this? Is this a general case or an exception? The pen currently has an EF nib which is too thin for my tastes now, and I was thinking of going for a M nib. But if they run narrow maybe a B would be more like a M on average?? Thanks for any input.

I would also like to see a sample of the M200 medium nib.

I have a medium, if you would like to swap, if the xf is smooth.... I prefer a f to xf...

i was thinking about getting an Italifine .9 mm nib with a m200 body. Do you have any experience with this nib?

Thanks for the kind offer. I think I better hang on to the EF nib in case I ever change my mind.

In my experience Pelikan nibs run wide. The fine is closer to a medium!

I have one of these and I LOVE it. Both sides of the nib write wonderfully. Give me a few moments and I'll post some writing samples....

edited to note that these nibs are on my Pelikan 215 and Pelikan 200. It's a pity I don't own a stock Pelikan xf for comparison. Still, this gives you an idea of how these guys compare.

Most would say they run wide, actually. I wish most of my fines were XFs. Most of them write like mediums on most papers. Exceptions on certain papers that "constrain" the line somewhat.

thanks for the reply and the writing sample
