First comment ... great forum. Glad I found it. Lots of good information and people who are willing to share it!
I have been "collecting" (well, actually accumulating) pens for a few years. Wahl-Eversharp pens are my favorites. My budget does not allow me to indulge in too many high end items; pretty much everything I have is under the "everyday writer" category. As I was looking through the Wahl pens to pick out one to use for the week, I happened across a pen that I had not yet fixed. I don't know the model designation of this pen, but I remember it being referred to as the last of the Gold Seal pens. This is a lever filler with the angular spring clip, and is the "Dubonnet Red" color. I wanted to resac the pen and get it into the rotation. Anyway, as I was looking it over, I noticed that the visulated section was "crazed". This should have stopped me right there, as the pen was in very good cosmetic shape other than this issue. But, I decided that it was of no use to me until it could be filled and used, so I went ahead anyway. You know the rest. The crazing was actually a series of cracks all the way through the section. After applying a bit of heat, the first gentle twisting on the section caused it to seperate into two large pieces and lots of little ones. So now I have a very good Wahl pen body, a great Wahl nib, but no section.
Does anyone have any spare, correct sections for this pen? I have attached some pictures; these are my first shots a posting on a forum, so I hope the pictures are OK.
Thanks for any considerations!
Chris
