Anyone know of a reasonably priced place to buy New Old Stock Omas Paragons/Arcos? I got one, that I like (small Paragon), from a on line retailer for $650... well the pen is clearly worth $200 or so. Yeh, I know there is a fool born every day... I'm not normally that stupid. So have a real bad taste in my mouth on that one. But would like to get a one or two more, at a reasonable price. JD

You might want to check with John Mottishaw (nibs.com) to see if he has any old Paragons left. You'll find some on eBay and Regina Martini's site from time to time. But I would say your best bet is to post a WTB on the Marketplace and on the PT Green Board. Good luck,
David

Small addendum: Joon still has a few old-style OMAS left in their clearance section (no affiliation, etc, etc).

Mottishaw is definitely your best source.

Excuse me? $200 for an Arco Paragon? You've got to be kidding. If you keep an eye out on eBay you may get one for $450-500, but not less. I don't think you've been had for a $650 - it's the normal price. Accept it.

Thanks for the info. They did have one, like I already have, so that was pretty close. JD

Sorry, I was mixing my thoughts. I had ended up buying a small Paragon. I would be interested in another color for $2-300. I would pay $500 or $600 for an Arco JD

I see. Thanks for clarifying! smile.gif

As previously mentioned, I think John Mottishaw is your best source. Check out his website at www.nibs.com. No affiliation - just a satisfied customer.

John has almost all of his Omas pens in newer models.Very few NOS that i can see.Maybe i'm wrong here. But on his website i see most are from the last 3 years.

You're right, Jim, he has very few of the pre-LVMH left. Joon has a few black NOS Paragons left. They're getting harder to find headsmack.gif Best,
David

For anyone who wants this one, here's the link to Joon's clearances.

It's the silver-capped Ogiva. smile.gif

And if you are looking on eBay, you might want to steer clear of seller outletline.....

Jarno.

Also check out TJ Maxx discount stores.
They've carried older celluloid autumno, 360 and Paragon vegetal resin fps at
bargain prices.

Jim,
Take a look at this thread for a range of opinions on outletline: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...showtopic=41328 . Some have positive things to say, others don't. I've never purchased anything from him myself, but he sure has some lovely pens for sale. Best,
David

Thanks David.I read part of that post awhile back but the name of the dealer didn't click. Now i remember.
When one gets old,the memory is the first to go.The second,i don't remember roflmho.gif

I do see quite a few nice pens including newer Omas models.Guess one takes chances on all sales. But at least it sounds as though he takes care of buyers in general.
