Hi to all, just joined the site and I am new to the world of pens (I can barely use a keyboard!!)

If possible I am after some advice. I am looking to buy a sterling silver fountain pen and have just found this on ebay.

Or item number

I am worried about buying a fake and wondered if you all thought that it was a genuine pen

Many thanks

I don't know for certain BUT the box does not look like the one I got with any of my MB's which I bought from their botiques or from worldlux.

Maybe they have different boxes for different pens. Or maybe it's a knock off.

Will the seller assure it's authenticity and make that a part of the sale, so that is you find it's not genuine, you get a full refund?

the pen appears to be authentic, and the seller seems reliable.

The box looks real enough (I have one just like it)...but the pen...no opinion.

If you're honestly worried, the best place to go is to pen shops and poke around there.

I, also, would guess that the eBay pen is genuine. For one thing, it’s used and not in a mint condition, whereas most fakes seem to be brand-new. Neither does it claim to feature a 18-24K nib...

The Montblanc 144 Solitaire is a small pen, and it has proven to be too small for me. If it’s silver, and not a particular brand, you’re after, you might consider a Sheaffer. Excellent pens, and (in this style) bound to be very rare. There are still a few USA-made around, for instance, in PenHero’s shop:

For that kind of money you could pick up a solid sterling pen like a Yard-O-Led Viceroy!
