For your viewing pleasure, a restored vintage Conway Stewart 479 Marbled Blue. According to Jonathan Donahaye's Book of Conway Stewart Numbers, CS 479 was manufactured c1931 - 1950. It appears that this specimen is an "early model".

For the avoidance of doubt, that is not my handwriting and that is not written with this pen. I now realise that I should have done a sample writing, as the nib appears to produce some nice line variation (stub? cursive italic?) and it also flexes. Oh well, I will not set up the gear again.

Well, who am I kidding. I had to set up a photo of the handwriting as well.

The ink used with this Conway Stewart 479 at the moment is Noodler's Upper Ganges Blue. The nib/ink combination feathers a bit on this paper. Unfortunately, I do not know the specifics of the paper (producer/weight) as this is my office notepad paper. The distance between the horizontal lines is 9mm.

I can pick out some shading, as well. The nib appears to have some cursive characteristics. Further, it flexes nicely as well.
