So, as I see all kinds of pens, and wonder if I sould buy them... "because I can" ... I decided that I would make some rules for myself.
The rules are that I will only buy one pen of each color, with the exception for black with silver/rhodium trim. Ok, that's not "rules," - its "rule."
So today I am sitting at my desk and I see that I have new mail. The Pentrace LE was just posted in the Marketplace. As much as I thought that it was totally cool, and that with the three nibs (two are Binderized!) this pen was a grrrrreat value, I was able to look away. You see, I have a nice Green Estie from the Marketplace and I knew that Doc Nib was sending me a Green Sheaffer Balance ... So I was already OVER the green limit! Anyway, it was easy to move on.
Now, I am not saying that I would have been first in line, perhaps one of you beat me to it. The point is that I feel like I made an extra $135 today! Time to go shopping!!!
If I sell my orange Kultur, maybe I can buy the orange VP LE!!

Boy that would be and easy choice! Sell the Waterman and get that VP!!! I handled one the other day at Vannes Pen shop and it is sweet! The orange almost glows, it has a neat finish!

But ... green pens are cool. And you
missed owning a Pentrace LE! The three nibs are super neat. You ... you missed out!

No. The system WORKS. Come on now...
As for the VP, I know I know. I do not have a VP and was sold on one by Ryan the other day... So I am looking. And if I am looking I might as well get the Orange.
However, I do not have a blue pen...

I'm guessing you're from Arkansas and were in Little Rock... if so, that VP almost went home with me on Saturday! I just knew my wife would kill me if I had bought it since there was a box from an EBay buy waiting on me when i got home.
It is a gorgeous pen, and I hope to end up with one before all is said and done.

James, buy the orange one and I'll trade you so you have a blue pen!

Honestly, after seeing the look on your face after writing with mine last week, I was a little surprised that it took you this long to say that you were sold on one.

How large is your set of colors? There are over 100 shades of green.

Ditto, Lloyd. Forest, hunter, mint, verdigris, jade, verdant, olive, emerald, pea, bottle, chartreuse, lime, celedon, celery, envy... need we go on? That is 16 greens, thus, 16 pens.

This system might engender a color bias..... who knows maybe you'll start getting color you hate to get a new pen...

No no no...
There is only one shade of green, and it is green.
Unless, I really need it, and then it is olive.
Ryan - I probably will buy the Orange VP if I can find it.
I must say, while I was twirling your VP on my finger, that I was flipping around the nicest pen we had... Bad form on my part, I am glad I did not drop it. But that thing is perfectly balanced.

You are forgeting that each mfr makes pens in green. You really need to be more open about your collection.
Besides, a Green Estie and a Sheaffer Balance ... Sorry, but these two together don't compare with an LE (even if it is from Pentrace

) with TWO BINDERIZED nibs and a spare
