I have an Etruria with a loose clip. It appears that the inner cap has slots on either side on its upper edge which makes me think that it may be threaded. Does anyone have a suggesstion for a general purpose tool that may be used to engage the slots of the inner cap way down in the cap so that it may be unthreaded?
thanks

Hi Bob,

The inner (metal) cap of an Etruria is slotted on two oppsite sides. I have never taken one apart (never needed to), but I would assume a large enough screw driver should do the trick, provoded you take the sharp edges away, or maybe very long nosed rounded pliers.

The slots are rounded at the end towards the cap top, and so far I have been able to distinguish at least four (4) different constructions. Some models have a larger metal inner cap, replacing the machined stop and closing rim for the section in the cap, but they all have a smaller inner cap further down, with these slots. These smaller inner caps seem to come in two different sizes. And I have one example that seems to have a screw at the top of the cap, presumably to hold the clip mechanism.

Anyway, HTH, warm regards, Wim
