My first ballpoint pen was so bad I went back to my fountain pen and never looked back. Pen and ink has brought ideas and information down to us from ancient Egypt, Greece Etc. The founding of our nation is passed to us with pen and ink. The smooth precise line fron a gliding nib is a delight each time I write. The ever present ballpoint is for the herded masses that know nothing of the joys of the fountain pen.
I am a Pe-Nut that is I love Pelikan best, but I do have Scheaffer, Parker, Omas, Mont Blanc, Aurora, Retro 51, Taccia, Viconti, and least of all I have a computer keyboard (which I know the least about).
Hope to enjoy FPN and new pens I have comming.

Welcome aboard.
My dad gave me his Sheaffer lever-filled FP when I was in the 5th grade and I've been hooked ever since. It's true what you said about a gliding nib being a delight.
I'm impressed that you are introducing yourself on the New Member board on your first day!! I joined months ago and although I have a posted a couple of questions, I can't bring myself to post here. I started once but chickened out.
