I have several APICA journals in the large size that take FP ink well but have soft covers. I want a hard cover like a Moleskine so I have build a removeable hard cover but now am toying with the next level and actually binding them to create a hardback version with nice endpapers and all. I might even put a ribbon bookmark and elastic band.

Would anyone be interested in purchasing these and what would be your price point.

If you could find a way to put a hard cover on an Apica notebook, I would be very interested. I just started using the CD-15 notebooks. They have great paper, but I have been wondering how to make the cover harder. If you have a removable cover, I would be interested in that, and if you bind them into a hard cover, I would be interested in that.

Price? I don't know. Anything reasonable would be fine.

I'd love to see the same with the X-large Moleskine Cahiers.

I have an Apica A10 with 100 pages in it. I don't think you'd have to bind a few together, just put a hard cover on it. Actually, these (and the X-large Cahiers) can fit in the Scully leather covers.

But, yeah, I love the paper of the Apica and wouldn't mind buying something like this - wouldn't pay much more than an equivalen Moleskine though.

I had someone make me up a leather case that I slipped the large moleskine covers into and got them to put a band on it to make it look like the moleskine band. Would that idea work for you? It at least adds a little rigidity.

Hideous yellow tinge

I note that there is a company that are now making these commercially

The idea is really good. I can't wait to see a picture of your final prototype.
I would be interested in a nice cover for my small CD-5 Apica, something well made and simple.
How would you bind them together? What type of material for the cover, leather, fabric, paper ?

Good luck with the project

I use the APICA 100 note book the model 6A10. I would love to get a journal with two or even three of these bound together into a hardback.

I'm not sure about the price. It would depend on the cover material and the workmenship.
