looks... interesting. Not something I would buy, though.

mmmm not a big Omas fan although the 360 does sit well in my hand.

Would I buy one think it would have to be a no

If I recall, the early comments, including mine, were not particularly flattering. I wonder if Omas is testing these designs with any real users of fountain pens or have the jewelry designers taken over? I think they should send their prototypes out to the Omas Society for feedback first rather than create any more of these monstrosities!!!!

This new 360 is proof that LVMH misunderstands Omas and is messing up its designs. I just hope Omas will be able to survive Christophe Artaux and his team. Who knows, this will probably come to be seen as a dark age for the company? Hopefully one which will lead to a renaissance.

Now, let's go back to the 360. Wasn't it all about the ergonomics of the triangular grip section? The original design was a great classic (well, save maybe for the uninspired clip). The triangular section did indeed not fit everyone's hands, but then those customers could buy other models or have the nibs rotated inside the section. It looks like with the new 360 they're trying to suit everyone with the round section - and in doing so sacrificed the very essence of the triangular design.

That's what LVMH is doing (according to an article with Artaux): trying to increase the customer base. They're aiming at the wider Montblanc market. They lost me and a bunch of other Omas fans in the redesign process. Let's just hope that the new customers they bring in will compensate.

PS can you believe they rounded off the cap to fit their new logo?

I couldn't agree more. This plus they went overboard on the hardware so everyone could see the OMAS name. Insane!

Bring back the Old Paragon, the Ogiva, and the Old 360. All three were great pens and had wonderful nibs.

Too much metal, ugly cap and blind cap. Wish I hadn't sold my old one as it was a much better design.

oh well my purchase or lack of purchase will not change their bottom line.

...missed that one being on vacation; thank's for pointing this out.

The worldlux pictures show the character much better and let's put it this way: "I'm not amused". It's too much "Waterman Exception" like....

While the new Omas pens (Arco Paragon, Matte Black Bologna, Red Emotica and maybe even the new 360) are still nice, interesting pens they have lost everything which "Omas" meant to me: buying a new pen which looks truely vintage!

AND the worst thing has to be the metal part on the gripping section!!!

Hi,

Quite well said. They've lost me too. I'd buy the old models.

I do not have the money to collect a little of everything, so there are some pen brands that I have not gotten into. Omas is one of them, though I might buy one in the future. Still, I have enjoyed looking at Omas' pens. I think this new 360 is a silly attempt at innovation with little thought to actually using the pen for writing. Quite frankly, the pen reminds me of an $8 Diplomat pen I have, and the Diplomat looks better.

What the heck is OMAS doing????
"Redesigning" all of their models by:
1. getting rid of their piston filler system
2. making their designs absolutely plug-ugly
3. doing away with almost all of their signature celluloid colors

These new 360 pens look like a total accident to me. I just cannot believe they are doing that to their great lines of pens.
I love OMAS pens and have quite a few of them. But this will sever my ties with the company. I will only buy old stock in the future. What a darn shame! sick.gif
