Hi!
I am excited to be a part of FPN. I have collected since 1992 (my family and I were living in Columbus, OH at that time) and have focused on vintage US, UK and Italian pens. In the last several years, I have become interested in new pens made in China and Japan as well as contemporary European pens. My favorite vintage US pen was a Parker Vertical Stripe Vac-Fill Duofold in Red and Black--it was the best writer I owned, followed by a Waterman 94 in grey marble with a red vein. I sold my vintage pens only to re-acquire more later. Today I am writing with a large and heavy Minka (Taiwan) that is a mottled brown. Many of my Hero pens are decent writers, but not as good as the old Parker.
I look forward to meeting you and discussing pens (or other interests) with you.
With best wishes,
John Mallinak
