Has anyone written with the Stipula Bellini? If so, how is it? I love the woodgrain ebonite, but I buy pens to write, not to admire their design and finish.

Thank you for sharing your experience and opinions.

I have one -- just got it recently from Fountain Pen Domain (penseller.com -- photo of Stipula Bellini from penseller's site). The pen itself is smaller and lighter than Stipula's usual offering of pens (excluding those Stipula compact, pocket-sizepens). It is 5.5" long (capped) and I'm not sure on the barrel diameter, but it's quite slim for a Stipula.

If you've handled a Stipula I Castoni College, they are nearly similar in length and barrel diameter, but the Bellini's cap is heavier. The rose gold trim is quite nice and will add weight if you post your pens -- but the balance may be a bit off because the pen itself is quite light (which suits me). I haven't inked the Bellini yet though because I'm still trying to work through my current pens in rotation. I may give it a go tomorrow.

Thank you. I will be interested to hear what you think of the writing experience. I have committed my pen funds elsewhere for now, but I am still smitten by the woodgrain ebonite and rose gold trim.

Here is a writing sample from the Stipula Bellini.

The nib was smooth out of the box. In use, the pen is well-balanced -- even when posted. I thought it might be top-heavy because the cap is heavier than the pen body -- but when I tried it, it felt fine. If you write with your pens uncapped, this pen is very light (especially for a Stipula). I can see using this for hours on end. If you don't like small, light pens, then you may be disappointed. If you're looking for a light, beautiful workhorse, this is it.

I've posted my own photos of the Bellini here:

Great photos and review. I am nuts about the rose gold.

Gorgeous pen. Thank you for posting. I never considered this brand of pen before this post.

Very, very nice pen. I'm glad you're enjoying it. We are fortunate (in a way) that we have jobs where we have to handwrite a lot and we get to enjoy our pens. As you do, I also rotate my pens, so I actually get to use 95% of them (the other percentage is because i don't like the nibs... but there's the nibmeisters!!)
