Hello Everyone,

I live in Leechburg, Pennsylvania (about 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh). I have a couple pens in my collection from my grandfather (some old Sheaffer Triumphs) which have more sentimental than a daily writers. Without having a daily writer, I left the fountain pen world for a while until recently when I was given a used Pelikan M400 (old style M nib).

Wow—what a nice pen! (Just a little on the light side for me, but smooth, and what’s there not to love about a piston filler?!?)

Anyways, I’m hooked once again…now if I could just improve my penmanship…

Regards,

Erik

Well, you certainly started out right. Sentimental, and a Pelikan, you can always get a larger Pelikan. (Hold onto the nib)

Welcome to FPN and enjoy yourself…………………… biggrin.gif

Welcome to FPN. Those Sheaffers can be mighty nice to write with you know. I love my old Triumph nibbed touchdown Crest and use it a bunch.

Hello and welcome to FPN! I've been around that area and drank at the Mad Hatter around there.

Hi Erik and welcome! Any good pen stores around where you are? I spend lots of time in the NE part of Pennsylvania and when I walk into a store and ask about fountain pens, I am greeted with blank stares.

I'm not sure about the NE part of Pennsylvania, I'm 45 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. What I can say about Pittsburgh is there is a very nice store in downtown Pittsburgh called the J.R. Weldin Company. If you're in the area, stop by. Friendly people and the best selection of pens and ink you'll find on the western side of PA.

Erik

Erik thanks for the tip. Now I have an excuse to check out that area. I've never been there so this is perfect! smile.gif
