I use a Canon A430 PowerShot. AA batteries are nice since they're a standard size, but they don't last long. Rather than buy AA's in bulk, I'd like to consider rechargables. Can anyone recommend a good 110v battery charging unit that accepts the following:

AAA, AA, 9v, C and D batteries.

Thank you in advance.

I can't recommend a specific charger for you, as I live in a 230V zone, and don't know any 110V or switchable chargers, but maybe I cna help you with the selection process in another way.

If you want a good battery charger, you need one that can charge individual batteries. That way, the charge is customized for a specific battery, rather than for a pair or a quarter, as with the cheaper chargers. What is best for a single battery, is not so good for two or more at the same time, it is not optimal, and essentially decreases battery life. Furthermore, I would make sure a battery charger is capable of charging the latest large capacity Li-ion or Lion batteries, namely, AFAIK, for AA 2800 mA capacity. It is possible that there are 2900 mA ones available as well, these days, but I am not so sure.

Furthermore, don't get the super speed fast chargers, like 1/2 hour per battery - they do destroy the battery at a much faster rate than a 1-2 hr battery charger or slower.

HTH, warm regards, Wim
