My wife has been hunting for a planner but has not been able to find one that she likes.
She would like a daily/weekly planner. A day a page or 2 days a page, she would like some room to write.

We looked on adailyplanner.org but was not able to find any good pictures of the pages.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Here's the one I have made and use. i start off the week each week with the weekly pdf (sorry if that was confusing) followed by Sunday through Saturday daily pages. It was pretty easy to make. Maybe you should find out exactly what it is that your wife wants in a planner and make your own!

Moleskine page per day planner: Pocket size, red hardcover

Moleskine page per day planner: Desk size, black hardcover

I've used Moleskine planners for years and find them well-made, well-designed, and durable. Use a fountain pen with a fine nib and Noodler's black ink, or ballpoint pens, or pencils, and there will be no problems with the paper.

For something really different, take a look at www.plannerpad.com. I have found that this planner, if used as designed, can greatly improve productivity, as it helps you by providing tools to gather data, and focus in, prioritize, and turn the data into information which is usable. The ones I have had are FP friendly. the planners are available looseleaf or wirebound, in 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, or 8 1/2 x 11.

My wife really liked the look of the planner pad planners. My self I really like the moleskine thats nice and small. Her complaint about the moleskine is there is no pen holder.

She used to have a day timer, might have to give that another look.

Since no one else has I'll put in a shout for [topic="D*I*Y Planner"]http://www.diyplanner.com/[/topic]. All the docs are in Acrobat format. There are a lot of templates available.

Apple's iCal has very good weekly and daily pages, it is just a matter of printing them.
If you don't have an Apple computer you may go to an Apple store and see if it is possible to print from one of their free for use Apple.

There is also a calendar/address book software Now Up- to- Date made by Now software (http://www.nowsoftware.com/) that has a very very good daily and weekly calendar but the software cost $119, you might want to download the 30 day trial version to see if it is worth the price.

I use Outlook pages printed out and punched into a Levenger Circa. Alternatively, check out macaddicted's suggestion for DIYPlanner.com. It's a great resource.

Will the 8 1/2 x 11 pages fit in an ordinary 3-ring binder?

Thanks

You can look at the thread at http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...eskine&st=0 second and third pages of posts, regarding moleskine, and see a couple of solutions regarding lack of pen clip. Mine is the "final solution" in that nobody posted after it. I did have another idea, however. Rather than a cheap plastic pen case, a felt pen sleeve attached to the back of the notebook with velcro would also work, and possibly be short enough on a 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 notebook to not have pen hangover. I may try that on Sunday (Dallas Penshow tonight and all day tomorrow).

David,

Yes, they are standard punching for letter paper. I have mine in a Wenger Swiss Army leather binder with handles I got from Office Depot (not affiliated) for around $40 which was cheap for a letter size real leather binder. I like it a lot, but they don't carry the binder online any more, and I don't know about in the store; however, WalMart has similar binders really cheap, but probably leatherette rather than real leather, but they are around $20.

For the past 8 years, I've used a calendar/organizer from Mixed Role Productions. It is an August to August type developed by a school teacher. A cover can be purchased from MRP that has two loops that lock the cover closed when a pen is inserted through the loops. The loops are large enough to accommodate a Pelikan M600 size pen.

It is a two-page per week format with Mon, Tue, Wed on the left page and Thur, Fri, and Sat, Sun on the right. Along the left edge of the pages are appointment times which include "earlier, 8-11, noon, 1-5, and later" for a total of 12 lines per date. The heading of each day includes day-of-week and date. There is a full one-month calendar on a page at the beginning of each month section. An address directory is in the back of the calendar/organizer where there are extra note pages and plan-ahead calendars for September thru December. There is also a financial record page at the beginning of each month. The calendar/organizer is double-ring spiral bound and the pages measure 8.5 X 5.5. The paper does well-enough with fountain pen ink.
